Innovators
Jacob Hansen
Chief Executive Officer
Jacob founded Hansen Consulting Group in 2021 with a clear mission: bring real BIM expertise and organizational leadership to the contractors and firms that need it most. He holds an MBA, and a M.S. in Management and Leadership. He has spent his career helping AEC contractors, general contractors, and owners refine how they plan, design, operate and build.
Jacob has drafted and implemented BIM Project Execution Plans for clients across multiple industries, most prominently in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and data center. Among his many engagements Jacob highlights his experience as a Program Director on the TSMC AZ FAB21 semiconductor project -- one of the largest and most complex construction programs in the country. He specializes in integrating BIM strategy with program management, turning coordination challenges into repeatable, efficient systems.
When he is not supporting clients and projects you will find him serving at church, traveling with his family, flying airplanes, or finding the next challenge worth pursuing.
Colten Browning
Chief Technical Officer
Colten brings a mechanical engineering foundation and nearly a decade of cross-discipline program leadership to every engagement. Where most practitioners operate within a single discipline, Colten works across the full program — bridging design, engineering analysis, procurement, and field execution into a coordinated strategy that holds under pressure. He holds a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Arizona State University.
His technical depth spans process piping, electrical modeling, thermal and seismic pipe stress analysis, and various BIM practices — but what he's known for is governing complex programs across disciplines, aligning teams, and establishing the standards that keep delivery predictable when the work gets hard.
At HCG, Colten keeps operations precise, deliverables on time, and technical standards high. Outside of work, he is usually outdoors, whether that be in his garden or the mountains with his family.
Braden Sherwood
Director of Sales
Braden runs business development at HCG. He finds the right clients, opens the right conversations, and manages the relationships and network that drive the business forward.
He didn't come up through sales. He came up through the work. He started in structural steel erection, where he learned how buildings actually get put together. From there he moved into BIM coordination at Intel, working on the kind of mission-critical projects that don't tolerate guesswork. Sales roles across other industries sharpened how he listens, qualifies, and earns trust.
That background shows up every day. Braden can hold his own with a field crew, a project executive, or a BIM lead — because he's sat in each of those seats. He works with MEP contractors, design-build firms, preconstruction teams, and developers tackling complex builds, and he's straight with all of them about whether HCG is the right fit. The relationships tend to last longer that way.
Braden and his wife live east of Mesa, Arizona. When the weather cools off, he's out at Glamis as much as possible. The rest of the year, you'll find him fishing or hiking.
Chris Anderson
Chief Financial Officer
Chris Anderson serves as Chief Financial Officer of Hansen Consulting Group, bringing more than 25 years of financial, operational, and executive leadership experience to the organization. Throughout his career, Chris has helped growth-stage and private equity-backed companies strengthen financial performance, scale operations, execute acquisitions, improve profitability, and prepare for successful exits.
At HCG, Chris leads financial strategy, forecasting, capital planning, performance management, and the development of scalable financial systems to support the company’s continued growth. He brings a highly operational approach to finance, working closely with the executive team to connect financial performance with strategic decision-making and long-term enterprise value.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business.
William Spier
Chief Operations Officer
William Spier is a leading Technology and business development professional specializing in MEP VDC, construction technology, and emerging AI solutions, with experience across design, engineering, fabrication, estimating, and visualization. William brings a strong understanding of how technology can be integrated into construction workflows to improve efficiency, productivity, and innovation.
He has extensive experience working with Autodesk and other technology platforms, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and develop new approaches to complex industry challenges. Known for his ability to connect people, technology, and ideas, William helps organizations explore emerging technologies and turn innovative concepts into practical solutions.
His passion for AI, deep learning, and technology-driven transformation positions him at the forefront of the evolving construction industry, with a focus on enabling teams to embrace new possibilities while reducing redundant effort and improving outcomes.
Michael Massey
Chief BIM Officer
Michael Massey is a technology and digital delivery leader with more than 35 years of experience advancing BIM, VDC, and AEC technology strategy across architecture, engineering, and construction organizations.
Throughout his career, Michael has advised executive stakeholders, standardized technology workflows, driven enterprise technology adoption, and aligned digital ecosystems with broader business and operational objectives. He works closely with organizations to evaluate emerging technologies, modernize digital delivery practices, and support technology-driven organizational change.
Before transitioning into consulting, Michael practiced architecture for more than 15 years as a designer and project manager. His experience also includes managing the BIM process for the electrical trade on six hyperscale data centers, including the development of shop drawings, coordination, and creation of as-built models.
Michael holds a degree in Architecture from Texas A&M University, along with professional certifications in Revit Architecture, Revit MEP (Electrical), and Revit MEP (Mechanical).
Travis Holzer
Lead Project Manager
Travis Holzer began his career in pre-construction estimating within the civil infrastructure industry before transitioning into the remodeling sector, where he focused on fire and water loss projects. In 2010, he joined the industry as an Assistant Estimator, quickly developing his skills and advancing to Lead Estimator. After eight years in estimating, Travis transitioned into project management, gaining experience across construction, business development, and administration.
In 2018, Travis was introduced to point clouds and LiDAR scanning, sparking a passion for technology and innovation within the construction industry. He is particularly interested in improving efficiency and collaboration between trades throughout the construction process. With expertise in BIM, Scan-to-BIM, and augmented reality (AR), Travis is focused on leveraging emerging technologies to help the construction industry evolve.
Today, Travis continues to build relationships with companies across the country and explore innovative, out-of-the-box solutions that improve communication, collaboration, and efficiency throughout the construction process.
