Mechanical Contractor

Project Name: Municipal Waste Water Treatment Facility

Location: San Francisco, California

Client Type: Contractor

Services Provided: Engineering Support/Pipe Stress Restraint Design/3D Modeling/Drafting

For a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant serving the San Francisco community, the engineering team was tasked with designing robust pipe restraints capable of withstanding significant thermal, thrust, and seismic forces. These restraints, both inside and outside the facility, were critical to ensuring the system’s durability and operational safety in the face of complex loading conditions.

To achieve this, the team leveraged advanced 3D modeling software and industry-leading pipe stress analysis tools, including Caesar II, AutoPipe and Revit. These technologies enabled precise calculations of load transfer into the restraint design, ensuring accuracy and reliability. By employing innovative strategies, the team effectively distributed seismic and thermal forces across multiple restraints, reducing the size and complexity of individual components. This approach not only enhanced the overall design but also delivered substantial cost savings for the project.

Throughout the process, the team demonstrated a commitment to excellence, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure the design met rigorous safety and efficiency standards. Their dedication extends beyond the design phase, as they continue to provide ongoing support during construction to uphold the highest quality and performance benchmarks. This project highlights the team’s ability to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions for critical infrastructure projects.
